Can brake calipers and brake pads be fastened
The brake calipers and brake pads cannot be used immediately after being installed, otherwise the brake calipers will be stuck and the brake system will be damaged in serious cases. The correct installation method is: first release the brake caliper, and then slide the brake pad into the caliper hole. The upper part of the caliper hole will lock the brake disc. Just screw the caliper circlip. It is not necessary to slide the brake pad into the caliper hole. So people usually install the circlip and then slide the brake pad into the caliper circlip to install the brake pad in place. However, this method is not desirable, because the material of the clip groove will affect the size of the braking force, which is not conducive to the installation of the brake pads, and the brake pads will be worn after the caliper circlip is unscrewed, which will easily cause damage to the brake system, so this method is not desirable. The correct installation method is: first unscrew the fixing nut on the circlip, and then slide the brake pad into the circlip slot. After installation, there will be a slight noise, but if there is no noise, it means that the brake pad has not reached the specified level, and you just need to slowly loosen the circlip.

1. Check the thickness of the brake pads. If there is no serious wear, it is recommended to use a thickness of about 2 mm;
Generally, the brake pad surface must be covered with a layer of dense graphite film, which will be eroded by air and water. Brake pads with a thickness of less than 2 mm have a higher friction coefficient, and the thinner the thickness, the better the braking effect and the longer the service life. If there is no such graphite film, the thickness of the brake pad should be kept at about 3-5 mm. Generally speaking, if the thickness of the brake pad is less than 4 mm, "friction failure" will occur, which will lead to brake failure; If there is no wear, the service life of the brake pads is about 10,000 km. Before replacement, it must be confirmed whether it is necessary to replace all brake types (including all types of brake discs).
2. Check whether there is clearance between the brake pad rubber sleeve and the brake pad and the tire;
There are different ways to check the clearance according to the needs of car users: for example, if you use a multimeter to measure the distance between tires and auto tires, you can accurately measure the clearance between tires and auto tires. It can also be handled with a screwdriver: when fixing the screwdriver and the tire screw, it should be noted that the screws should be fixed together to prevent loose nuts or falling screws from causing improper installation. In addition, hydraulic tools can also be used for repair.
3. Check whether there is clearance between the brake pad and the brake disc;
Check whether there is clearance between the brake pad and the brake disc mainly to see whether the brake disc of the vehicle is scratched or stuck after being stuck. The brake disc is scratched because the brake pads are too thin. Once it is too thin, the brake disc will be stuck in the brake disc when the brake is pressed and cannot be reset, and the brake disc is easy to scratch other parts, such as bearings, etc.
4. Check whether the brake fluid deteriorates and replace it in time;
In addition to checking whether the brake fluid deteriorates at ordinary times, the deterioration of the brake fluid will also affect the braking performance. The brake fluid needs to be heated at high temperature during use. This process will generate a large amount of water vapor, which is easy to deteriorate and breed bacteria when heated. Therefore, when the color of the brake fluid becomes darker or the smell is obvious, it should be replaced immediately. Two points should also be paid attention to when changing brake fluid: first, use qualified products from the original factory. Second: Replace the brake fluid for new vehicles in time. Under normal circumstances, it shall be replaced every two years. However, if the brake system is blocked or the braking effect becomes worse due to the use of inferior brake fluid, it is necessary to go to a professional organization for maintenance immediately.
5. Check whether the brake pad surface is rusted;
In addition to the above inspection methods, we also need to inspect the brake pads. Most of the brake pads on the brake discs are made at high temperature. If they are not replaced in time, they will become unusable. If there is rust on the brake disc, the metal surface will slowly blacken under high temperature, which will reduce the braking force and cause the brake system to fail. When the brake disc is rubbed to the surface, the temperature will rapidly rise to below 200 ℃. When the temperature rises to above 150 ℃, the brake disc will lose its braking effect and its grip. Therefore, if inferior materials or parts are used, the brake system may be affected, so it is necessary to repair the brake disc in time. The general types of brake pads include silicon carbide series, steel series, copper series and aluminum type.
